Overview of the Role

Cumberland Council is seeking a highly skilled Community Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This role is focused on maintaining the daily presentation of the public domain within the Cumberland City Area, ensuring that it meets the community's expectations.

The successful applicant will be responsible for responding to high-priority requests and delivering maintenance duties, including Town Centre cleansing, parks, streetscape, and verge maintenance, as well as minor road and footpath repairs.

About the Opportunity
  • This is a permanent, full-time position with a 70-hour fortnight and access to Council's 9-day fortnight Rostered Day Off (RDO) arrangement.
  • The hours of work will be based on two shift patterns of morning and night shift from 5:00am to 1:30pm and 9:00pm to 5:30am.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in general maintenance duties.
  • Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships with peers, customers, and community organisations.
  • Demonstrate a strong customer focus with sound customer service skills and the ability to embrace a system of change and continual improvement.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively complete relevant administration tasks associated with the position.
  • Be able to operate multiple electronic devices to assist in the delivery of projects.
  • Current class C drivers licence.
  • Current Traffic Control and Traffic Management Implementer card.
  • General Construction Induction Card (white card).
  • Current 'ChemCert' qualification.

Salary Information

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $58,000 and $68,000 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation, depending on qualifications, skills, and experience.
