Environmental Manager - Cairns

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated professional to lead our Cairns Environment group. As the Environment Group Manager, you will collaborate closely with General Manager – Cairns and Regional General Manager - NQ to oversee daily operations, managing HR, Business Development, Marketing, IT, Financial Reporting, and administrative activities.

Your interpersonal prowess allows you to navigate challenging situations, building and maintaining strong relationships with your team and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • A degree in environmental science, management, ecology, botany, zoology, or a related field.
  • Solid expertise in business development, legislative requirements, and technical proficiency in environmental disciplines, particularly in infrastructure delivery and mining sectors.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, including managing people, budgets, client relationships, and business growth.
  • Knowledge of licensing and auditing, along with expertise in environmental disciplines such as noise, air quality, water, flora, and/or soil monitoring and assessment management.
  • Familiarity with environmental legislation and planning policies.
  • Proven experience in delivering environmental solutions for major development, infrastructure, and mining projects.
  • Background working on various environmental assessment and planning projects.
  • Willingness to travel as needed, including extended fieldwork in remote areas.
