Job Title:

Transportation Coordinator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, as well as on field trips and other school-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operating the school bus in compliance with all traffic regulations and safety standards
  • Ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the bus
  • Assisting students with disabilities or special needs during transportation
  • Maintaining accurate records of bus mileage, fuel consumption, and student ridership
  • Communicating effectively with school staff, parents, and students regarding bus schedules and any changes or delays
  • Upholding a positive and professional attitude while interacting with students, parents, and colleagues
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Patience when working with children
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Previous experience as a bus driver in an educational or community setting is preferred
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Valid Qld driving licence with category LR entitlement
  • Proven experience as a bus driver, preferably in a school or educational setting
  • Familiarity with the road network in Cairns and surrounding areas
  • Ability to maintain a clean and well-presented bus interior
  • Flexible approach to working hours and a commitment to punctuality
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and responsibilities. They will require strong organizational and time management skills to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the bus.
