Senior Solicitor Role Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Senior Solicitor to deliver high-quality civil law advice and representation services across various civil law issues.

The successful candidate will lead and manage the Dubbo practice, focusing on working with young people who are participants in the Youth Koori Court.

A key aspect of the role involves building and maintaining relationships with local stakeholders to contribute to meaningful positive outcomes for clients.

  • Deliver expert civil law advice and representation services to children and young people experiencing structural disadvantage.
  • Work collaboratively with professionals to provide wrap-around support to clients.
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with local stakeholders to drive positive change.

Opportunities exist to contribute to advocacy and law reform work, bringing about change to policies, practices, and laws impacting children and young people.

Supervision of solicitors, case workers, and/or paralegals, as well as occasional travel to Sydney for training, may also be required.

About the Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting children and young people, with experience working with clients with complex needs.

Experience working with First Nations clients and providing culturally safe services is highly desirable.

Candidates should also possess skills in supporting clients across various civil law issues to address their fundamental needs.

Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work collaboratively with professionals are essential.

The successful candidate will be motivated, able to work independently, and contribute as a senior member of the team.
