Rocket Engine Test Engineer III

We are seeking a highly skilled Rocket Engine Test Engineer III to join our team of problem solvers and contribute to the development of reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and execute liquid rocket engine testing
- Develop and configure engine hot fire auto sequences
- Analyze test data and lead subsequent data reviews
- Generate test reports and lead engine requirements verification
- Identify opportunities for liquid rocket engine testing cadence improvement
- Support anomaly investigations and root cause analysis
- B.S. degree in an engineering field (aerospace, mechanical, or physics desired)
- 5+ years of experience in a testing environment
- Complete understanding of engineering fundamentals, including thermodynamics and fluid mechanics
- Demonstrated familiarity with data analysis and data processing, including writing scripts in MATLAB and Python
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation usage and troubleshooting, including pressure transducers, thermocouples, and accelerometers
- Strong knowledge of engine components, including pumps, valves, regulators, check valves, and fluid system components
- Ability to read and interpret engineering standards, technical requirements, and drawings
- Curiosity to understand rocket engines at a component and system level
- Knowledge of systems engineering practices
- Desire to work in a cooperative, fast-paced, and dynamic environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain positive and professional relationships and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- M.S. or Ph.D. in an engineering discipline
- Working knowledge of a variety of rocket propellants, including cryogenic propellants
- Working knowledge of rocket engine cycles, other engines, or power generation cycles
- Willingness to travel to support on-site testing
