Key Public Communications Role

The Position:

  • Provide expert advice to stakeholders on the design, development, implementation and evaluation of internal and external communication products and activities.
  • Manage accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements, share expertise with others and guide and mentor employees.
  • Create content for various communication channels such as social media, electronic direct mail, speeches, media products, web content and publications.
  • Prepare reports and briefings for senior government officials.
  • Coordinate events for audiences including senior government officials, ministers and agency partners.
  • Coordinate advertising campaigns and awareness raising activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, advertising or public relations are desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in planning, managing and evaluating internal and external communication programs is essential.
  • Media and speechwriting experience is desirable but not essential.
