
Program Director for Payroll and HR Systems Transformation

About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Program Director to lead a critical transformation program for our Payroll and HR systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Leadership: Provide overall direction and governance for the transformation, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy.
- Strategic Oversight: Coordinate interdependent projects (Payroll system upgrade, HR technology enhancements) and ensure successful delivery across the program lifecycle.
- Business Case & Benefits Realisation: Oversee development of business cases, financial models, and options analysis. Ensure program benefits are clearly defined, tracked, and realised.
- Vendor & Partner Management: Lead engagement with solution vendors, system integrators, and service providers to ensure delivery against agreed outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with senior executives, HR, Payroll, IT, and business leaders. Provide regular updates to steering committees and governance forums.
- Governance & Risk Management: Establish program governance structures, manage risks, issues, and dependencies, and ensure compliance with organisational frameworks.
- Financial & Resource Management: Oversee program budgets, monitor costs, and ensure optimal use of resources.
- Change & Communication: Champion organisational change, ensuring effective communication and adoption of new systems and processes across the business.
About You
We are looking for a proven experience as a Program Director leading complex HR/payroll system transformation initiatives. Strong track record in delivering multi-project programs with significant business and technology impact is essential. Expertise in governance, program planning, and executive stakeholder engagement is also required. Demonstrated experience managing vendors and external delivery partners is desirable. Familiarity with HR technologies is highly desirable. Strong financial acumen with experience in business case development and benefits tracking is also required. Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels is a must.

- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Program Director or equivalent role.
