About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Track/Civil Site Engineer to join our Rail Operations team at Laing O'Rourke.

Rail Operations is a business unit within Laing O'Rourke, specializing in the self-delivery of rail construction projects, including track, overhead wiring, civil, and construction services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with design process coordination and ensure construction activities are delivered safely and in accordance with client requirements.
  • Collaborate with project engineers to deliver work packages and plan and program requirements for assigned work packages.
  • Participate in weekend construction activities and ensure quality and surveying standards are met.
  • Develop and implement construction plans to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Work closely with the project team to identify and mitigate potential risks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

    About You

    • Previous experience in a site engineer role, preferably in rail construction.
    • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
    • Experience with managing contractor models and working with tier 1 or 2 contractors.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
