About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Nurse Specialist to join our team in South, Tasmania. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assertive community-based mental health care to consumers through active therapeutic engagement, monitoring, and review of mental state and response to treatments.
  • Conduct specialist assessments and treatment services, including triage, assessments, safety planning, and contributing specialist skills and experience to treatment and transfer of care and discharge planning.
  • Promote community awareness in relation to mental health and act as a consultant to other services regarding the support and care of consumers with mental health needs in the community setting.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications and experience as a Registered Nurse in a mental health setting.
  • Mental health experience, AHPRA registration, and Working with Vulnerable People registration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with consumers, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working shift patterns or part-time hours. You will be required to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team, using your expertise to provide high-quality care and support to consumers.

Salary and Benefits

The successful applicant will receive a competitive salary, estimated to be around $85,000 per annum, based on industry standards and location.
