Job Summary
The Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) Dermatologist plays a crucial role in providing contemporary comprehensive specialist services for optimal patient outcomes. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced dermatologist to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing specialist dermatology services to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of skin conditions.
- Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve quality patient care and outcomes.
- Providing leadership and guidance to junior medical staff and students to ensure they receive high-quality education and training.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to the development of clinical guidelines and policies.
- Engaging in research and academic activities to advance the field of dermatology and improve patient care.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Dermatologist, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in dermatology at the role delineation of the service.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research, and quality improvement.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and respond on site within a reasonable time.
