Key Role

We are seeking an expert in geospatial data management to lead the integration and optimization of our geological data systems. This position is responsible for driving the standardization of data collection methods and analysis processes across operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and maintain current geological data management processes to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Develop, optimize and maintain GIS based workflows to support operations.
  • Coordinate system changes across multiple sites, ensuring seamless implementation with minimal operational disruption.
  • Create and maintain procedures and documentation for systems based project deliverables.
  • Present system changes to stakeholders, providing clear communication of impacts, benefits and implementation timelines.
  • Support end users and manage service tickets through platforms like Jira Service Management.
  • Evaluate and pilot new technologies including machine learning, automation, remote sensing and spatial analytics.
  • Ensure team operations adhere to IT security policies while promoting best practices.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Degree in Geology, Information Systems, Geoscience or related field.
  • Minimum 3+ years experience in GIS, drilling, mining/metals or oil and gas industries.
  • Practical experience with relational and spatial databases (SQL, Snowflake, SQLite, geodatabases).
  • Applied knowledge of GIS and spatial data management systems.
  • Programming and development skills with proficiency in Python.
  • Strong understanding of IT methodologies, systems and processes.
  • Experience with drilling methodology and/or geological data collection would be advantageous.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to liaise professionally with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong time management and project management skills with ability to work independently on concurrent projects.
