About the Role

Mater Dei College is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Groundsperson to maintain the aesthetic and functional integrity of our college grounds on an adhoc basis. This position will cover a staff member when leave is booked in or to cover a staff member who is out on sick leave.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for various tasks including undertaking maintenance and grounds requests, managing maintenance requests through the helpdesk, and providing a safe working environment that ensures compliance with occupational health and safety legislation.

Additionally, the Groundsperson will ensure the college grounds are maintained in a clean, healthy, tidy state that provides staff and students with a safe external learning environment. They will also assist in setting up venues for college activities which may include moving furniture, lighting requirements, and lock-up procedures.

Requirements

The successful applicant will hold a current Working with Children Check (WWC) and a National Police Clearance from the Department of Education. They must also annually complete the online Child Protection Procedures and Mandatory Reporting Training, and hold or be working towards an Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Relevant experience in a grounds/maintenance team, experience of working in a team environment with a demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service, and strong problem-solving skills with high time management and organisational skills are highly desirable.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $75,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as the opportunity to work in a supportive and dynamic environment.
