Operational Risk Leader

As a Senior Manager, Operational Risk, you will provide second-line oversight and challenge to ensure the organization actively manages, escalates, and resolves risks in accordance with our risk management framework.

This role offers flexibility, allowing you to work from home two days a week.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Designing, reviewing, and delivering operational risk assurance across the business and oversight of controls to support alignment with strategy, business outcomes, and compliance with APRA Prudential Standards.
  • Oversight of control design and implementation, recurring risks, and controls review, and resilience assurance and support for APRA notification / consultation.
  • Supporting activities to design, implement, and execute a right-sized Operational Risk Management Framework, including incident and issue management, controls assessment, independent assurance, and advisory reviews.
  • Second-line risk representative on relevant risk forums, management risk committees, project working groups, and steering committees.
  • Contribution and preparation of reports to aid decision-making to key forums.
  • Second-line challenge and oversight on operational risk and governance frameworks.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in risk management roles.
  • Experience in dealing with business management, operational risk, technology risk, project, product, or process management issues in a financial or related institution, or in a consultancy/audit capacity, at a management level.
  • Experience in managing and influencing multi-faceted stakeholders (internal and external) in order to meet competing priorities, different needs, and non-aligned expectations.
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels to clearly communicate good risk management practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant financial services regulatory and compliance considerations.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to deliver solutions to risk issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Key Requirements:

  4. Knowledge of financial services regulations
