
Lead Child Protection Policy Specialist

The Child Protection Policy Lead will drive improvements across child protection policy, leading work to enhance the children and families service system.
- Develop high-quality, timely advice and products to inform policy development and implementation.
- Coordinate and oversee system reform and improvement opportunities addressing recommendations from external oversight bodies.
- Drive strategic policy work to identify and leverage system insights from inquiry recommendations to drive system reform.
- Liaise with and strengthen departmental relationships with external oversight bodies and other government departments.
Applicants should possess advanced skills in policy analysis, project management and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, resourcing, risk and issues management, actions, and governance to deliver high-quality projects.
- Analysis, Evidence and Outcomes: Develop well researched, evidence-based, solutions-oriented policies to guide child protection practice.
- Strategic Engagement: Forge strong connections with key stakeholders and staff within the organisation and externally, working collaboratively to improve outcomes across the department.
