Senior Project Manager Opportunity

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of council's civil infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage, footpaths, shared paths, carparks, road safety, and streetscapes. This role requires a strong understanding of project management principles and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the delivery of civil infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Tender for and manage contracts, negotiating with suppliers and stakeholders as needed.
  • Conduct site supervision and surveillance of works, ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial management and control.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including council members, community groups, and other external parties.
  • Ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering and Project Management.
  • Experience in project and/or construction management, preferably in Local Government.
  • Previous experience successfully delivering Capital Works Projects to time, quality, and budget constraints.
  • A solid understanding of Local Government procedures, principles, and legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write and present reports to various stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • A current driver's license.
