About the Opportunity

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our afternoon team in the position of Workshop Fitter. This role will involve assembling, maintaining, and repairing heavy machinery to customer specifications, as well as providing quality diagnostic and general maintenance services in a professional and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and maintain heavy machinery to customer specifications
  • Perform repairs and diagnostic services on heavy machinery
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner
  • Complete and submit all relevant paperwork and reports
  • Maintain a clean and tidy working environment in line with the company's 5S standards
Requirements
  • Relevant trade qualifications
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Heavy Rigid drivers license and High Risk Work licenses (forklift, dogging, working at heights, etc) highly regarded
  • Safety focus with a good understanding of Workplace Health and Safety principles
  • Good communication skills and a dedication to providing quality work for an OEM
