About the Role

This position plays a pivotal role in shaping our Site Reliability Engineering function. The primary responsibility is ensuring agreement on service levels, implementing continuous automation, and driving improvements to meet these standards.

Banking is evolving rapidly, offering our team members exciting opportunities for growth, learning, and exploration. In this role, you'll be instrumental in building the long-term strategy for SRE within your domain.

What You Will Do
  • You will apply SRE principles to build, monitor, and measure critical components.
  • You will collaborate with other SRE leaders and teams across ANZ Plus to drive down costs, increase efficiency, and foster a strong reliability culture.
  • You will be a technical leader, mentoring engineers through complex problems and guiding them towards best practices.
  • You will need to continuously learn new tools and techniques while running proof-of-concept evaluations to stay at the forefront of innovation.
Key Skills and Qualifications

We seek an experienced engineer who possesses expertise in:

  • Coding in one or more languages (Go, Java, Python, or scripting languages).
  • Common Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform or CloudFormation).
  • Continuous Integration/Deployment tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or BuildKite).
  • Experience in cloud computing across major public cloud providers (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes or equivalent container orchestration tooling.
  • Experience working with operations and architecture groups to develop scalable solutions.
  • Monitoring and observability tooling (Honeycomb, Splunk, Dynatrace, etc.).
