About the Role:
As a Mathematics Department Lead, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of the mathematics curriculum. This involves collaborating with staff to deliver high-quality teaching and learning practices that foster excellence in student outcomes across all year levels.
You will model and promote innovative and evidence-based approaches to teaching mathematics, ensuring alignment with the Australian Curriculum and departmental initiatives. Additionally, you will build staff capability through mentoring, professional development, and collaborative practices to strengthen pedagogy and assessment strategies.
Nurturing positive relationships with students, teachers, parents, and the wider school community is essential in enhancing engagement and achievement in mathematics. As a member of the leadership team, you will contribute to the broader leadership of the school, actively participating in the delivery of the vision and strategic direction of the division.
The Mathematics Department Lead is accountable to, and operates under the direction of, the Principal or delegate.
