Longhole Driller Ops

We are seeking experienced professionals to fill the role of Longhole Driller. As a key member of our underground mining team, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safe and efficient drilling of longholes.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain adherence to safety codes and regulations, prioritizing the well-being of yourself and your colleagues.
  • Accurately drill longholes using mechanized drills, adhering to precise mine instruction plans.
  • Communicate effectively with surveyors and engineers to optimize drilling patterns and ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Set up and troubleshoot longhole drill rigs, utilizing technical expertise to resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Evaluate face conditions at the start of each job, making informed decisions to maximize productivity and efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in underground mining, with a strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices.
  • Training in national workforce development programs, with a focus on effective communication and teamwork.
  • At least 5 years of experience in underground mining, with 5 years of specialized training as an Underground Longhole Driller.
  • Familiarity with underground mining practices and efficient machine operation, with a strong emphasis on adaptability and continuous learning.
  • Highly organized and able to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
