Our Careers Counsellor will provide educational support, guidance and resources to help students plan their future directions and opportunities post school.
Key Responsibilities- Guide students in establishing and achieving informed career pathways through effective decision making processes.
- Develop and maintain industry partnerships with tertiary institutions to ensure students have access to relevant and current career information.
- Implement a careers education framework to staff at Middle and Senior School levels, empowering students to clarify and achieve their career goals.
- Advise and support students on subject selection, course options and career choices to optimise their outcomes.
- Promote student engagement and participation in the student futures program.
- Hold an accredited career development qualification as outlined by the Career Industry Council of Australia Professional Standards for Career Development Practitioners.
- Proven experience working in a secondary school environment with a focus on delivering impactful student outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of Australian and international university selection procedures and a wide range of tertiary study options.
- Understanding of VTAC application processes and implementing school developed and implemented Careers Curriculum in alignment with organisational values.
