The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Debt Portfolio Manager to join our Asia Pacific (APAC) Debt team in Australia. This key front-office resource will provide critical financial analysis, transaction execution, debt portfolio management, and general business support to our APAC Debt business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough financial modeling of loan investment opportunities, focusing on sensitivity and scenario analysis for risk and returns, due diligence on underlying projects/assets, and market research.
  • Prepare indicative terms and term sheets for investment opportunities with Sponsors/Borrowers, as well as coordination and preparation of business line and Investment Committee papers seeking approval for new loan investments.
  • Review legal documentation on transactions and contribute to Lender and Borrower negotiations, ensuring timely deal closings and managing conditions precedent to signing/funding.
  • Oversee debt portfolio management, including covenant monitoring and proactive handling of necessary variations and approvals.
  • Assist in third-party capital raising initiatives for the APAC Debt business, including debt funds and separate account mandates, and provide periodic data for the debt team.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Advanced academic qualifications in finance, accounting, real estate, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Debt or a related field within the Australian market.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

$120,000 - $150,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
