The Public Contact Specialist role is critical within the division, providing public-facing services and often being the first interaction an individual has with our organisation.

This role assists clients, the general public, and other service providers by ensuring they receive accurate, up-to-date information or referrals to the right person or agency.

  • Deliver high-quality telephone and reception services, maintaining a welcoming and professional manner.
  • Attend to each individual enquiry, establishing the purpose of the visit or call, assessing the service required, and providing the appropriate response.
  • Maintain effective working relationships and liaise professionally with all levels of staff.
  • Utilize a range of information and communication technology effectively.
  • Support clients who are distressed, angry, or confrontational with courtesy, implementing established security procedures as required.
  • Operate as an effective team member in a team environment, delivering quality, timely, and effective customer service.
  • Provide support through administrative functions as required.
  • Keep accurate records of work activities, including client contact and referrals, in accordance with legislative requirements and departmental policies.
