Key Position Overview

We are seeking a high-calibre professional to assume the role of Senior Risk Analyst.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing risks within our commodity trading portfolios and identifying potential opportunities and threats.
  • This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present findings in a clear and concise manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain advanced tools and models to provide insights into the energy market landscape and our company's market exposures.
  • Manage the operation of key risk models, including data sourcing, validation, and reconciliation of model inputs and outputs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely risk reporting.
  • Communicate market developments and trading position changes across the commodity portfolio in a clear and effective manner.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in economics, mathematics or a related discipline (CFA).
  • Experience in energy derivatives and commodity markets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau.
  • High attention to detail, particularly in data validation and reconciliation.
  • Solid understanding of quantitative finance concepts, including Value at Risk (VaR) and option pricing.
  • Proficiency in programming and data tools such as VBA, SQL, and Python.
