Clinical Haematologist

As a Clinical Haematologist, you will play a crucial role in the comprehensive management of patients with haematological malignancies, disorders of haemostasis and thrombosis, and other haematologic conditions. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including researchers and clinicians, to advance our understanding and treatment of these complex diseases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Management: You will be responsible for managing patients with haematological malignancies, including acute leukaemias and lymphoproliferative disorders. This will involve developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, working closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Diagnosis and Treatment: You will diagnose and treat disorders of haemostasis and thrombosis, using your expertise to identify and manage bleeding and clotting disorders. This may involve performing diagnostic tests, interpreting results, and developing treatment plans.
  • Collaboration and Education: As a member of our team, you will participate in themed clinics and multidisciplinary meetings, working closely with other healthcare professionals to advance our understanding and treatment of haematological disorders. You will also provide consultative services to other units as required, sharing your expertise to improve patient care.
  • SUPORTING LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT: You will supervise trainees and junior medical staff, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Professional Qualifications: You must be a registered Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, or equivalent.
  • Relevant Experience: You will have relevant training and experience in haematology, including a strong understanding of the underlying biology and pathology of haematological disorders.
  • Commitment to Excellence: You will demonstrate a commitment to high-quality patient care and teamwork, working collaboratively with others to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients.
