Job Title: Library Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our Learning Resources Department as a Library Support Specialist. This is a part-time opportunity that requires flexibility to work varying hours, including weekdays during term time and school holidays.

The successful candidate will be an integral member of the library team, working closely with staff, students, and parents to provide a welcoming and efficient service within the school community. Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with students, staff, and suppliers to ensure seamless day-to-day operations
  • Maintaining accurate records and systems in consultation with library team members
  • Providing Information Desk duty at lunchtime, after school, and during class visits
  • Assisting students with research activities and supporting literacy initiatives
  • Contribution to library activities, displays, and promotions

Requirements for this role include:

Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • A genuine passion for education and a commitment to student learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ICT skills and ability to learn new technologies
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant degree or diploma qualification in Librarianship or Library and Information Management
  • Previous experience working in a library or educational setting
