Senior Mental Health Governance Specialist

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Senior Mental Health Governance Specialist to provide expert clinical advice and monitor the performance of mental health service providers in custodial settings.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Monitor and review the performance of mental health service delivery across adult custodial settings, ensuring adherence to established standards.
  • Conduct regular location-based audits of mental health service provision to ensure alignment with the Justice Health Quality Framework (2014).
  • Support the validation of performance outcome measures relevant to mental health service delivery, promoting quality improvement initiatives.
  • Review critical incidents, complex medical and mental health issues, and complaints, providing authoritative clinical guidance.
  • Provide expert and authoritative clinical advice on solutions to highly complex and sensitive issues, ensuring the delivery of high-quality mental health service provision.

**Requirements:**

  • Demonstrated ability to provide expert clinical advice within a challenging and complex health environment, with a strong focus on risk management principles.
  • Demonstrated understanding and awareness of key issues impacting health, mental health, and/or AOD services to vulnerable cohorts, driving informed decision-making.
  • Demonstrated experience in a quality-focused role, coupled with a thorough understanding of risk management principles and APHRA registration as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse.
  • A tertiary qualification in the health industry and eligibility to practice under the Health Professions Registration Act, with a strong emphasis on continuous professional development.
