Job Overview:

This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to leverage your expertise as a reliability engineer at a leading iron ore operations site. In this role, you will provide critical support to ensure sustained asset performance while meeting business objectives.

Your mechanical or reliability engineering background will be instrumental in driving defect elimination and cost-saving initiatives to reduce operational expenditure.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver reliability engineering support by reviewing and implementing strategies to improve plant efficiency and uptime.
  • Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions to minimize recurrence.
  • Collaborate with other departments and suppliers to complete defect elimination actions.
  • Provide technical advice, recovery planning, and investigation/flash reports to support breakdowns.
  • Ensure shutdowns are executed smoothly by solving implementation issues and maintaining schedules.
  • Identify and deliver cost-saving initiatives to reduce operational expenditure.

  • Key Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Reliability Engineering or trade qualification with relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in a fixed plant or heavy industry environment, preferably in maintenance or reliability.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, organizational, scheduling, and coordination skills.
  • Proficient in SAP and familiar with work management systems.
  • Competent in MS Office Suite and Navisworks.
