We are seeking an experienced People Operations Manager to lead our people operations team – overseeing employee lifecycle, workplace health and safety, employee relations, human resources, and volunteer engagement to support the success of our mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Human Resources Management: Oversee end-to-end people initiatives – including HR strategy, recruitment, employee relations, workforce planning, policy compliance, training, and engagement programs with the aim to build a safe, inclusive, high-performing workplace for staff and volunteers.
  • Employee & Industrial Relations: Lead and manage industrial and employee relations, including EBAs, workplace disputes, compliance, policy development, and advisory support, while fostering constructive relationships with unions, employees, and stakeholders.
  • Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Management: Manage our workplace health and safety function, including strategy implementation, policy development, risk management, training, compliance, and promoting a culture of safety and wellbeing for staff and volunteers.
Requirements
  • A Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Workplace Health and Safety, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in HR and/or WHS management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, Fair Work legislation, and WHS regulations.
  • Proven experience in policy development, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Demonstrated experience in WHS risk management, safety audits, and compliance reporting.
  • Experience in managing workers' compensation and return-to-work programs.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work both strategically and operationally in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
