Job Title: Rowing Boatshed Manager / Facility Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to manage our rowing boatshed and coordinate our facility operations.

About the Role:
  • Maintain and repair rowing boats, motors, and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Coordinate the movement and loading of equipment for training, regattas, and camps, ensuring timely and efficient transportation.
  • Oversee the safety and upkeep of our facility, including regular inspections and maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure that facilities and equipment are ready for daily use, meeting the needs of students, staff, and visitors.

The ideal candidate will have experience in rowing boat rigging, repairs, and equipment maintenance, as well as strong organizational and problem-solving skills. They will be able to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, and possess a marine driver's licence (or willingness to obtain), driver's licence, and Blue Card. Flexibility with working hours is essential, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and camps during the rowing season.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintenance and Repair: Regularly inspect and maintain rowing boats, motors, and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  2. Equipment Coordination: Coordinate the movement and loading of equipment for training, regattas, and camps, using trailers or other transportation methods as needed.
  3. Facility Management: Oversee the safety and upkeep of our facility, including regular cleaning, maintenance tasks, and inspections.
  4. Preparation and Readiness: Ensure that facilities and equipment are ready for daily use, meeting the needs of students, staff, and visitors.
About You:
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in rowing boat rigging, repairs, and equipment maintenance.
  • Skillset: Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Qualifications: Marine driver's licence (or willingness to obtain), driver's licence, and Blue Card.
  • Availability: Flexibility with working hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and camps during the rowing season.
