About the Role

Laing O'Rourke Group's Rail Division is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager - Rail Signalling to lead the conversion and design elements of rail projects. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of projects within the time, cost, quality, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Leadership: Provide support to the Project Leader to ensure client expectations are managed, including the establishment of a project brief, understanding development drivers, and establishing a cost plan to meet agreed budget.
  2. Design and Conversion: Lead the conversion and design elements of rail projects, ensuring that all works are completed in accordance with client quality requirements and Australian standards/codes.
  3. Project Reporting: Prepare and present project client reporting documentation in a PCG format and attend PCG meetings.
  4. Conversion Program: Develop and implement an overall conversion program, including project issues related to revenue, client, authorities, design, procurement, and delivery of the project.
  5. Risk Management: Identify and understand key risks and opportunities in all aspects of the project to optimize Laing O'Rourke Group's position.
About You

We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in rail signalling and project management. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Exposure to managing teams for delivery phase of construction.
  • Experience managing signalling and communication construction projects, as well as managing contractors.
  • A degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) or Construction Management or equivalent.
  • Understanding of design, problem-solving capabilities, and commercial acumen.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in rail signalling, preferably in a senior project management role.
