About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned operational leader to oversee our frontline team of 40 staff delivering critical track resurfacing works using tampers and ballast regulators across the Sydney network. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing a diverse team in a demanding shift environment with a strong focus on performance management, training, safety, and adapting to changing operational demands.
  • Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders including engineering, plant maintenance, procurement, and project teams to drive capacity planning and workforce management while ensuring delivery targets are met.

Key Requirements

  • A proven leader with experience managing operational teams in construction, infrastructure, or heavy plant environments.
  • Strong knowledge of resurfacing machinery (tampers, ballast regulators) and track maintenance methods as well as WHS legislation and rail safety obligations.
  • Able to manage and upskill diverse teams and possess exceptional communication skills with the ability to have challenging conversations to achieve outcomes.

About You

  • Excellent prioritisation and communication skills, able to adjust plans quickly when required and maintain focus on delivery and safety.
  • Possess a current NSW Class C driver licence and be comfortable driving 4WD or UTE-type vehicles.
