
Youth Trauma Specialist

Specialized intervention services are provided for infants, children and young people who have suffered trauma, neglect and disrupted attachment. A comprehensive clinical framework is supported by a knowledge team that provides internal clinical practice development, research and specialist consultation to enhance outcomes for service users.
The Take Two Wattle and Falcon Projects offer trauma-specific therapeutic services to young people who use violence. These programs include:
- The Wattle Project: An adolescent violence in the home program providing therapeutic intervention, case management, and brokerage support to address the cause and impact of a young person's violence at home.
- The Falcon Project: A therapeutic intervention program for young people aged 12-18 years who use or are at risk of using physical or sexual violence.
These services run across north-eastern Melbourne and Hume-Merri-bek regions.
About the RoleAs a Clinician, you will facilitate recovery, empower participants to make positive choices, and contribute to building a robust evidence base for effective support strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate therapeutic sessions with adolescents and their families.
- Conduct clinical assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Provide direct service in the clinical assessment and treatment of young people and families.
We are seeking an experienced Clinician who enjoys working within a multi-disciplinary team and is passionate about seeing young people and families reach their goals. A sound understanding of trauma and its impacts on attachment and developmental milestones is essential.
Requirements- Bachelor degree level or higher qualification in a Health or Welfare related field.
- Significant experience conducting clinical work with adolescents.
- Sound understanding of the complexities of the service system.
