Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Collection Team Lead to join our team at Alfred Health in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of specimen collectors across multiple hospital locations, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and policies, and delivering high-quality patient care.

About the Role

As a Medical Collection Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing a team of specimen collectors, coordinating logistics, and ensuring the efficient operation of the collection service. You will also be involved in quality management tasks such as document control, corrective actions, and audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of specimen collectors across multiple hospital locations
  • Ensure compliance with relevant guidelines and policies
  • Deliver high-quality patient care through efficient and effective specimen collection services
  • Coordinate logistics and manage resources to ensure smooth operations
  • Participate in quality management tasks such as document control, corrective actions, and audits
  • Collaborate with senior staff within the laboratory and across the organisation to ensure procedures and processes are up-to-date and aligned with quality standards

Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Pathology Collection or equivalent
  • Secondary education to Year 12
  • At least 7 years' experience in specimen collection, including working in a hospital environment
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership role
  • Ability to engage and motivate a team across multiple locations
  • Ability to relate well to patients and other health professionals
  • Mature, friendly, and cooperative manner
  • Well-developed organisation and planning skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience in quality management tasks is desirable
