An exciting opportunity exists for a highly skilled Registered Nurse to assume the Associate Nurse Unit Manager role in a private hospital's Neurosciences ward in Melbourne.

About the Role

The successful applicant will assist the NUM in providing leadership and support to the unit, ensuring a high standard of patient care. This opportunity facilitates the development of your managerial skills, with a comprehensive orientation program offered to support your transition into this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Foster a learning culture to drive continuous improvement
  • Maintain professional relationships with VMO partners, using a customer service mindset to achieve high-quality patient outcomes
  • Provide clinical and operational direction for the unit, ensuring efficient management by coordinating evidence-based nursing care
  • Accountable for daily management of human, financial, and material resources
  • Coordinate and drive clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives
  • Undertake direct patient care as required

Candidate Requirements:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • At least 2 years of acute Neuroscience Nursing experience
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant field or willingness to work towards it
  • Current or previous ANUM or clinical nurse specialist experience (desirable)
  • Sound clinical knowledge
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills
  • Positive role modeling behaviors
  • Excellent customer service focus, time management, and prioritisation
  • Ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment
  • High degree of computer literacy, including MS Office and various databases

The hospital is a 124-bed facility offering highly specialised services, including neurosurgery, neurology, advanced coronary care, cardiothoracic, orthopaedic, and general surgery. The Neurosciences ward cares for patients with complex neurological disorders and conditions.
