About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Capability Development Manager to join our team at Bank of Queensland. As a key player in our digital transformation journey, you will be responsible for nurturing a workforce that is not only skilled but also passionate about building social capital through banking.

This is a new role within our structure, aligned to our strategic growth plan for our Business Bank. You will partner with our Business Bank leadership team to scope, prioritize, design, and build the capability and talent framework for the division. To achieve this, you will consider the customer, technical, and leadership capabilities required in each role to deliver on our Business Bank strategy.

You will play a crucial role in delivering learning and development initiatives for our relevant teams, including training pathways, operating rhythm, upskilling programs, performance support, coaching, and feedback. These initiatives will be driven towards driving strong commercial outcomes for the bank, strengthening our risk culture, and solidifying our strong relationships.

You will engage with division leaders to identify and prioritize capability development. You will manage the rollout and execution of these programs and tools, ensuring they achieve the desired business and learner outcomes. We will also have you managing a team of capability partners and designers, where you will coach and guide on best practice.

About You

We are looking for someone who is not only experienced in capability development and talent management, particularly within the Business Banking space, but also someone who is a natural at business partnering and has a passion for understanding and considering career pathways that allow us to get, grow, and keep the talent we need.

You are the kind of person who thrives in a role where you can design programs that resonate with people, and you are comfortable leading workshops that leave a lasting impression. You are resourceful, always ready to dive in and find the information you need, and you are not fazed by a bit of uncertainty.

Your communication skills are top-notch, both in writing and in person, and you approach problem-solving with a human-centered design and systems thinking mindset.
