The NDIS Governance and Policy Manager is a pivotal role in driving Victoria's co-governance of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and leading on NDIS legislative and policy development.
Key Responsibilities- Developing Victoria's positions on NDIS legislative issues, including research, analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
- Supporting intergovernmental collaboration and analyzing draft policies and legislative amendments in partnership with legal teams.
- Managing responses to recommendations from the NDIS Review and Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability.
- Coordinating briefing processes for the Disability Reform Ministerial Council, ensuring timely and accurate information.
- Providing leadership and guidance to staff, managing budgets and resources effectively.
- Overseeing projects to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations, utilizing project management best practices.
- Preparing reports and briefs on complex matters, leveraging analytical and communication skills.
- Identifying emerging issues, risks, and trends, providing research-based recommendations to inform decision-making.
This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders across government and jurisdictions, involving strategic analysis, negotiation, and influence. The position demands effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Requirements- Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permits.
