Job Title: Transport Safety Officer

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Transport Safety Officer.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety of students, parents, and teachers at various school crossings in the Ballina Local Government Area.

You will work closely with local communities to build relationships and promote road safety awareness.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference in their community and ensuring everyone's safety on the roads.

The role involves working varied shifts, including mornings and afternoons, Monday to Friday, during school terms. You will receive an hourly rate, plus superannuation benefits.

As a Transport Safety Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a high level of visibility and awareness at school crossings;
  • Ensuring safe crossing practices among students, parents, and teachers;
  • BUILDING strong relationships with local schools, parents, and the community;
  • Providing excellent customer service and communication skills;
  • Identifying and reporting any potential hazards or risks;
  • Participating in regular training and development sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge.

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A strong commitment to road safety and community engagement;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including mornings and afternoons, Monday to Friday;
  • A valid driver's license (not required but preferred).
