At SGS Australia, we offer a unique opportunity to take on a key leadership role as Mine Site Supervisor. This position involves managing the full operation of our on-site coal testing laboratory at Byerwen.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in monitoring and managing compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Identify and report hazards, conduct inspections, and ensure safety awareness among team members.
  • Record, investigate, and report procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Lead by example and demonstrate visible safety leadership.
  • Conduct incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, contractors, customers, suppliers, government agencies, neighbors, and the community.
  • Manage procurement and freight of parts and services to ensure efficient delivery of fixed plant and equipment services.

Key qualifications include:

  • RII competencies for light vehicle and laboratory equipment.
  • Previous experience operating onsite laboratories.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including basic spreadsheets.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of laboratory operations.
