Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the Role:

Lead mechanical engineering projects, ensuring compliance with Australian and international standards. Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute complex mechanical engineering projects requiring strong leadership skills.
  • Manage contractors and subcontractors to ensure safe, timely and budget-friendly work completion.
  • Develop detailed mechanical designs using AutoCAD, SolidWorks or other relevant software.
  • Ensure all mechanical designs comply with Australian standards (AS/NZS) and other relevant codes.
  • Utilize SAP systems for project tracking, asset management and procurement processes.
  • Coordinate and conduct technical reviews, quality assurance and risk assessments.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers and stakeholders to ensure project objectives alignment and deliverables.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation including specifications, reports and drawings.
  • Stay abreast of industry advancements and implement best practices to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Over 10 years' proven experience in mechanical engineering particularly in planning and executing major projects.
  • Extensive experience managing contractors and project teams.
  • Proficient in mechanical design software including AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Well-versed in Australian standards and other international standards relevant to mechanical engineering.
  • Experience using SAP for engineering and project management functions.
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CPEng) with Engineers Australia is highly preferred.
