Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned operations expert to join our team as a Touring Operations Manager. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on delivering exceptional guest experiences while driving business growth and success.

Journey Beyond operates 17 brands across Australia, connecting guests to the land and to each other. Our diverse portfolio includes iconic trains, premium small-group tours, eco-luxury lodges, and aquatic adventures.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and managing staffing requirements, designing and delivering training programs, and overseeing operational plans to ensure seamless delivery of exceptional guest experiences.

About the Role:

  • Develop and implement effective staffing strategies to meet business needs.
  • Design and deliver engaging training programs for touring staff.
  • Manage operational plans to deliver exceptional guest experiences while meeting financial objectives and performance targets.
  • Foster a high-performance culture by mentoring and managing the performance of on-road crew members.
  • Ensure efficient use of touring assets, including compliance documentation and operational resources.
  • Effectively manage costs to align with business goals.
  • Ensure timely reporting and management of safety incidents and adverse events.

About You:

  • You will have a deep understanding of the travel industry, with previous experience in operations management.
  • Prior touring experience is highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience in management, operations, business, or hospitality, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong leadership abilities, including managing large teams and resolving complex operational challenges.
  • A collaborative leadership style, adept at coaching and mentoring staff to meet shared business objectives.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and a keen ability to solve complex problems effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams, managing a wide range of skill sets, and navigating intricate operational challenges.
  • A high level of professionalism, resilience, and accountability in all aspects of work.
  • Proven experience in heavy vehicle operation, with the necessary licenses and Driver Authority.
