We are seeking a highly skilled Irrigation and Pesticide Specialist to join our team. As an essential member of our public works department, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of our irrigation systems.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair irrigation systems, including pumps, pipes, and sprinklers.
- Apply pesticides and other chemicals as needed to control weeds and pests.
- Conduct regular inspections of irrigation systems to identify and address any issues.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement efficient irrigation schedules.
- Operate heavy equipment, such as trucks and loaders, as required.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in public works, construction, landscaping, or grounds maintenance.
- Valid Class B CDL Driver's license with air brake and tanker endorsements.
- Advanced training in turf management preferred.
- Pesticide and turf management certifications required.
- Good driving record.
- Must currently possess and be willing to maintain in good standing a valid Commonwealth of Massachusetts pesticide applicator's license which must be a commercial certificate with subcategory 37 turf.
