Strategic Business Consultant Role

The Principal Business Analyst is a senior position responsible for delivering authoritative and informed advice on business analysis, as well as leading stakeholder engagement to understand and document key requirements.

This role works closely with internal and external partners to support the identification, funding, and delivery of effective solutions across multiple concurrent initiatives.

The role also provides thought leadership and advisory services relating to ICT strategy, portfolio planning, and policy development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the analysis of large-scale initiatives using appropriate tools and techniques to:
    • Understand current state business systems and processes, defining future state/process.
    • Understand business priorities, needs, and requirements.
    • Contextualize problems in relation to the business and government environment.
    • Define proposed future states balancing strategic thinking with immediate local constraints.
    • Develop business cases for change, including options analysis, feasibility, cost estimation, investment logic, and benefits management planning.
    • Document findings in clear products.
  • Develop and communicate analysis plans, including hypothesis, expected findings, and conclusions to inform stakeholders.
  • Support initiatives throughout vendor selection, project lifecycle, and business solution implementation.

Requirements:

Candidates should possess strong analytical and communication skills, with experience in business analysis and stakeholder engagement.
