Youth Addiction Support

We are seeking a skilled Youth Addiction Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive support services to young people struggling with addiction.

Job Description:

  • Respond to referrals from internal and external sources, coordinating case allocations and ensuring timely interventions.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and intake processes for allocated individuals, including all necessary paperwork and data entry.
  • Develop holistic and strength-based case plans in collaboration with young people, empowering them to achieve their individual goals.
  • Provide advocacy and referral services, connecting young people with relevant resources and support networks.
  • Facilitate education groups and service information sessions, promoting awareness and understanding of addiction and recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, adhering to Mission Australia's protocols and guidelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in social welfare, social science, or youth work, or a minimum of three years' experience in an AOD role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to tailor communication to diverse audiences.
  • The capacity to provide outreach engagement and support to young people facing significant challenges, requiring perseverance, flexibility, and innovation.
  • Highly competent administrative and report-writing abilities.
  • A current full driver's license with no restrictions.
  • Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination status.
