Senior Supervisor Job Overview

The Senior Supervisor is responsible for the safe and successful delivery of civil construction works on time, within the agreed scope and quality standards.

They will work closely with the Construction/Project Manager and guide site personnel to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Construction/Project Manager and Superintendent with resource forecasting and allocation.
  • Ensure works are conducted in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Interpret issued construction drawings, documentation, and change orders.
  • Instruct and manage Leading Hands/Site Teams and provide progress reports to Construction/Project Manager and Superintendent.
  • Monitor site safety to identify and mitigate risks/hazards and promote a Zero Harm culture.
  • Report all risks, actual or potential, according to policies and procedures.
  • Liaise and manage ongoing relationships with client representatives to ensure satisfaction with job progress.
  • Assist with recruitment of site employees, including conducting interviews, phone screens, or inductions.
  • Mentor and provide leadership, direction, and support to site employees, including training and monitoring new employees.
  • Address complaints (internal and external) and resolve interpersonal issues.
  • Ensure daily worksheets & diaries are accurately completed and sent to the relevant department on time.
  • Actively assist with regular toolbox meetings.
  • Prepare project documentation and reporting as per procedures.
