About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Compliance and Disclosure team. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for supervising a small legal team and managing the investigation and resolution of disclosures made by solicitors and other suitability and compliance matters under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of investigators in managing and resolving disclosures and other compliance and suitability issues
  • Advise and assist team members on the management of individual matters
  • Manage overall team and individual practice resources
  • Review and monitor team functions and responsibilities, including performance appraisals of team members
  • Prepare reports for the Disclosure Committee, the Professional Conduct Committee, and Council of the Law Society of NSW
  • Expedite assessment, analysis, and investigation of referrals about and disclosures made by solicitors
  • Liaise with solicitors, the Disclosure Committee, the Professional Conduct Committee, Council of the Law Society of NSW, Legal Services Commissioner, and their staff
Requirements
  • Legal qualifications with extensive relevant legal experience
  • Admission as a lawyer
  • Supervisory and/or management experience
  • Sound knowledge of Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW) and related legislation
  • Good grasp of solicitor's accounting practice
  • Proven ability to use clear, concise language in correspondence and reports
  • Ability to plan and organize self and others to ensure the completion of tasks
  • Ability to structure, engage, and present information clearly
