The Department of Anaesthesia, Perioperative and Pain Medicine currently employs approximately 70 Anaesthetic Consultants and 24 Anaesthetic Registrars.

  • We support 17 operating theatres as well as a number of off the floor locations.
  • A wide range of Clinical Anaesthetic services are provided including: Regional Anaesthesia and Ultrasound, Obstetric and Paediatric Services, Cardiac Anaesthesia (including Transoesophageal Echocardiography) and a benchmark perioperative service (including CPET).

The department has a strong commitment to excellence in clinical, education and research activities and a strong focus on preparing senior trainees for consultant practice.

About the Role - Accredited Anaesthetic Trainee (maternity leave cover)

This role involves providing high-quality anaesthetic care to patients across various specialties.

  • You will work closely with a team of experienced anaesthetists and medical professionals to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
  • As an accredited anaesthetic trainee, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing anaesthetic care to patients in a variety of settings.
  • Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of patient care.

  • ANZCA accreditation or eligibility.
