Job Description

The Grounds Maintenance Worker 1 performs a range of tasks to maintain the appearance and upkeep of parks, grounds, and lake dams. These duties include landscaping, mowing, trimming, planting, fertilizing, and other related activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain grounds, lake shores, and parks in pristine condition.
  • Operate hand and power tools, as well as small power-driven equipment like mowers and weed eaters.
  • Maintain grounds of facilities in a neat and professional manner.
  • Lay sod, perform minor adjustments to mowers and equipment, and engage in general housekeeping (shop).
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. You should possess continual attention to detail, exhibit excellence in customer service, and have high school education or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additionally, you must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role requires frequent use of hands to handle or feel objects, standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, and talking or hearing. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
