We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Data Center Engineering Operations Trainee. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development in a dynamic and challenging environment.
- Assist in managing data center operations, including risk management, mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and metric reporting.
This is a 6-month fixed-term position with a possibility to become a full-time role. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with on-site management and contribute to the success of our team.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with on-site management to ensure contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors perform work according to established practices, procedures, and local legislation.
- Maintain performance benchmarks, analyze data, and prepare reports on critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
- Generate Change Management requests and Incident Management tickets as directed.
- Learn and contribute to documentation relevant to business and facility operations.
- Assist with installing racks and providing power/cooling within constraints.
- Participate in routine maintenance and emergency services for critical systems, such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.
- Assist with designing, implementing, commissioning, and building out new facilities.
- Manage facility assets and provide infrastructure and inventory asset management as directed.
- May participate in Construction and Operational Meetings as required.
- Ensure Work Order compliance and review contractual SLAs.
- Interface with Infra Ops teams for daily operational requirements.
- Resolve infrastructure engineering or services issues.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
- Meet daily hours of operations, shift, and on-call requirements during shift rotations.
This role involves a physical component requiring the ability to lift rack equipment; it may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Requirements:- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Relevant experience and training in data center operations preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
