We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Data Center Engineering Operations Trainee. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development in a dynamic and challenging environment.

  • Assist in managing data center operations, including risk management, mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and metric reporting.

This is a 6-month fixed-term position with a possibility to become a full-time role. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with on-site management and contribute to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with on-site management to ensure contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors perform work according to established practices, procedures, and local legislation.
  • Maintain performance benchmarks, analyze data, and prepare reports on critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  • Generate Change Management requests and Incident Management tickets as directed.
  • Learn and contribute to documentation relevant to business and facility operations.
  • Assist with installing racks and providing power/cooling within constraints.
  • Participate in routine maintenance and emergency services for critical systems, such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.
  • Assist with designing, implementing, commissioning, and building out new facilities.
  • Manage facility assets and provide infrastructure and inventory asset management as directed.
  • May participate in Construction and Operational Meetings as required.
  • Ensure Work Order compliance and review contractual SLAs.
  • Interface with Infra Ops teams for daily operational requirements.
  • Resolve infrastructure engineering or services issues.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
  • Meet daily hours of operations, shift, and on-call requirements during shift rotations.

This role involves a physical component requiring the ability to lift rack equipment; it may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Relevant experience and training in data center operations preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
