We are currently seeking a skilled Family Care Specialist to join our team in Hervey Bay. As a Family Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering care services to children, young people, and their families.

About the Role

  • We are offering a permanent full-time opportunity for a Family Care Specialist to join our team at Churches of Christ, Children, Youth & Families, Hervey Bay.
  • As a Family Care Specialist, you will work closely with our Team Leader to provide carer recruitment, training, and assessments, as well as deliver information sessions and pre-service training for prospective carers.
  • You will also be responsible for key community support services, including negotiating family support plans and undertaking placement coordination activities.
  • Additionally, you will utilise your assessment, crisis intervention, short-term intervention skills, and therapeutic approaches to provide both therapeutic and practical support services to children, young people, carers, and families.

About You

  • You must have a degree qualification in social work, psychology, social sciences, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in the provision of care services to children, young people, and their families in statutory care is essential.
  • Experience in providing training to carers and applying assessment, crisis intervention, and short-term intervention skills and therapeutic approaches is highly desirable.
  • You must possess or be willing to obtain a National Police Check, Working with Children (Blue Card) Licensed Care Service (Child Protection).
  • Your ability to establish and build rapport with people, empathy towards vulnerable individuals, and excellent communication skills make you an ideal candidate for this role.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this role is $73,427 - $85,107 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
