Wetland Inundation Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Wetland Inundation Analyst to join our Water and Wetlands team.

This role integrates the development of advanced computer-based data processing and modelling techniques to predict and evaluate inundation extent and trends across wetlands.

  • Demonstrated expertise in computer-based analysis and modelling of environmental spatial data is essential for success in this position.
  • A strong foundation in data management, remote sensing, spatial analysis, biostatistical software programs, and scripting is required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing scripts using Python for environmental data analysis and modelling is a critical aspect of this role.
  • Utilizing remote sensing products and models to track floodplain wetland inundation requires a high level of technical expertise.
  • Analyzing and evaluating trends in wetland hydrology using spatial datasets demands a deep understanding of environmental science and spatial analysis.
Requirements:
  • A degree in environmental science, geospatial science, or a related discipline is mandatory for this position.
  • Extensive experience with scripting languages such as Python, particularly in the context of environmental data analysis and modelling, is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data management, remote sensing, and spatial analysis using Arc Pro, QGIS, or similar software is expected.
